In terms of experience, man and space do not exist as separate entities. The character and content of experience arise from the specific form of the relation between man and a certain space, and man’s attachment to a place. Understanding the concept of space and place belongs to the context of our perception of physical life, situations as well as our value system, our feelings and our belief system. These different aspects create a web of connecting  threads, visible and invisible, between man and space.

U kontekstu iskustva, čovek i prostor ne postoje kao razdvojeni entiteti. Karakter i sadržaj iskustva proizilaze iz specifične forme odnosa čoveka i prostora i čovekove vezanosti za mesto. Razumevanje pojmova prostora i mesta pripada kontekstu naše percepcije, psihičkog života, situacije, kao i sistemu naših vrednosti, osećanja i verovanja. Ovakvi različiti aspekti čine mrežu vezivnih niti, vidljivih i nevidljivih, između čoveka i prostora.

In cooperation with MONS (Music Youth of Novi Sad) Monogram organized an exclusive show of Wovenhand at the Synagogue in Novi Sad on 7th Aug 2011.

David Eugene Edwards, previously the frontman of 16 Horsepower, the legendary Americana/gothic folk band from Colorado, USA, nowadays plays under the name of Wovenhand. The charismatic David Eugene Edwards, a shaman of electric faith, supported by Ordy Garrison on the drums and Jeff Linsenmeier on the keyboards, brought us the sound and the spirit of Colorado, a mixture of southern gothic and ancient Native American chants. One of the most relevant bands of the so called ´alternative country´ or Americana, the completely unique Wovenhand opened the hearts of many attendees, by beauty and grace and by the sheer force of their message.

U organizaciji Monograma, u saradnji sa MONS (Muzickom omladinom Novog Sada) 7. avgusta u novosadskoj Sinagogi nastupili su američki kultni sastav Wovenhand. Harizmatični David Eugene Edwards, frontmen legendarnih 16 Horsepower, danas šaman električne vere u misiji nazvanoj Wovenhand, uz pratnju Ordy Garrisona i Jeff Linsenmeira, doneli su zvuk i duh Kolorada, mešavinu južnjačke gotike i drevnih indijanskih napeva. Jedan od najznačajnijih bendova muzike koja se na ovim prostorima krstila kao alternativni kantri/Amerikana, potpuno jedinstveni Wovenhand su otvorili srca prisutnih milošću i silinom zvuka i prizora koji se teško zaboravljaju.

In collaboration with alternative music collectives from Holland – WOTNXT and Narrominded – we organized the Low Landing tour-trip through Serbia (19-26 March) for two Dutch alternative musicians – Bartd van der Dennen – BIRD – from Eindhoven and Jeroen Warntjes – SPOELSTRA – from Leiden. Itinerary of the Low Landing tour included parallel visits to 4 Serbian cities – Novi Sad, Belgrade, Subotica and Sombor – where they played together with Serbian bands support. The list of Serbian bands includes: Belgrade Noise, WB41, Wooden Ambulance, Went, Ivan Čkonjević, Jesenji Orkestar and Mesta.

Low Landing was a continuing journey, not only exterior but in the same time interior, with many personal identities and paths crossing each other. The spirit of friendship, familiarity and dynamic cultural exchange have been communicated through the growing number of new contacts and relationships, leading to creation of new partnerships between music/art/culture communities in Serbia and Holland. Some of these personal/professional partnerships have already started with new project ideas and proposals, such as collaborative record of BIRD and Serbian musicians, and a joint tour of MESTA and BIRD in Holland.

Low Landing strongly testified the power of self-organizing nature of alternative culture. It proved the ideal of creating a culture community working as a self-organized hive of cultural and artistic activities, non-profit initiatives and voluntary work that inspire people and make them more energized to help and contribute.

U saradnji sa alternativnim muzičkim kolektivima iz Holandije – WOTNXT and Narrominded – Monogram je organizovao Low Landing turneju kroz Srbiju (19-26. mart 2012.) za dva holandska alternativna muzičara – Bartd van der Dennen – BIRD – iz Eindhoven-a i Jeroen Warntjes – SPOELSTRA – iz Leiden-a. U okviru turneje posećena su četiri grada u Srbiji – Novi Sad, Beograd, Subotica i Sombor – gde su holandski muzičari svirali zajedno domaćim bendovima. Bendovi koji su pružili podršku gostima iz Holadnije su Belgrade Noise, WB41, Wooden Ambulance, Went, Ivan Čkonjević, Jesenji Orkestar i Mesta.

 Low Landing projekat  je podržala ambasada kraljevine Holandije u Beogradu.

Ivan Čkonjević (Novi Sad / Subotica)
Ivan is a solo artist, guitar player and composer whose music is often described as ‘soundtracks for movies yet to be made’. His sound relates to the genres of post-rock / experimental / drone music. He is into collaborative work with many other audio and video artists, performing often with many guest musicians, with many shows and releases behind. Besides playing solo, he is the leader of “Orkestar Gradovi Utocista” (The Cities of Refuge Orchestra) – a unique form of acoustic alternative folk music. He is one of the founding members of KNAP music collective from Novi Sad, and the program manager of IMPROSTOR – improvised music events.
